The journey of a new designer-maker. A City and Guilds qualified felt maker, I love the magic of turning a pile of fluffy wool fibre into beautiful and functional fine felt and exploring new textile techniques.
As promised, here are some photos of me sporting the finished dress. I wore it to my Spinners Weavers and Dyers Guild AGM and it was a real hit!
With a little "help" from Pickle
This photo was taken while doing the final shaping, I think it is really interesting how the colour of the silk changes when wet (pieces at the top of the picture).
Thank you Nada, I love the textured shapes but think I might also try your suggestion of using prefelts under the silk on one of my next garments, I think we will see a similar raised texture but also a "halo" of wool coming the the silk at the edges.
Great job Teri - looks like you got a good fit and the textures are wonderful. Pickle looks very helpful :)

ReplyDeleteThank you Els, I am so happy with the colours! The photos really don't do justice to just how bright some of the blues are.
